Join us to celebrate the Pro-Am releases of both Broad Leaf and Black Calder!
Broad Leaf will be releasing a American Stout named It’s A’Stout Freaking Time. This American Stout was brewed with homebrewer Paul Arends. We originally had intentions of making this a choco/coffee stout, but when Paul and Terry tasted this fantastic stout they didn’t want to alter a thing. There’s still loads of rich cocoa-y goodness coming from the grains and it’s got a wonderful mouthfeel and finish. It’s perfect just as it is.
This beer will debut at a tap takeover at 7 Monks on Thursday, 9/23.
Then will launch (draft and crowler only) at Broad Leaf on 9/24.
We also have the pleasure of releasing the Black Calder ProAm – Second Summer
Home brewer Dave Kilgore teamed up with Jamaal from Black Calder to brew this
exciting Hefeweizen featuring additions of blood orange, sweet orange peel, and ginger. They describe it like this: “Occasionally, summer runs into early fall. After a long day, you find yourself enjoying a refreshing beer on the deck as the setting sun shines on your face. That’s what we call…Second Summer. Brewed in honor of summer sippers and warm end-of-summer evenings.”
Black Calder’s ProAm beer will also be at the 9/24 event at Hopcat Knapp’s Corner.
Last, but certainly not least, we decided we liked home brewer Paul Arends’ ideas so much that we’d make another beer with him to represent his skills as a home brewer and his home brew club, the Brewsquitos — who you’ll probably know we have a long history with. Draconic Pop is a sour ale made with dragon fruit and mango. It’s along the lines of Broad Leaf’s Sour Lake beers, but with a new and unique fruit combo. We are excited to get this fabulous sour beer to our fans eager for more fruited sours.
This beer will also be pouring at the Brews at the Calder fest.
