House band Cheap Emotion take the stage following guest act from Kalamazoo, Saturdays At Your Place.
Saturdays At Your Place is a midwestern emo band in the vein of Remo Drive or Tiny Moving Parts. We’re excited to welcome them to our stage!
Cheap Emotion is an indie/emo band from Grand Rapids, reminiscent of early aughts indie music. Lead singer Devon Cline’s voice rises to acute heights then sinks down in one fell swoop, hitting the listener in the gut with intensely honest emotion. With heavy, sustaining guitar chords pounding repeatedly, the drums’ upbeat undercurrent propel the story forward like a roller coaster’s highs and lows; each summit, a melodic howl ending in resolve. Cathartic, for sure. There’s nothing cheap about this band.
